Pest Management at Your House

No two homes are exactly the same. They may be built, shaped, colored, landscaped, designed and maintained differently. So pest control techniques which work at one house may not work at yours.

People think those nasty German roaches live only in nasty houses... Wrong!

So the first thing I would like to do is give your home a good inspection. So you can tell me about pest problems which give you trouble and I can listen to you and find out what is causing your problem. Then I will come up with a plan of attack to treat your home and a pest prevention plan to stop future troubles or infestations.

  • 98% of all the bugs in your home came in from the outside. The other 2% you brought in or someone else brought them in for you. Christmas boxes stored all year long and then brought in. Buying the most beautiful brand new looking used refrigerator or appliance and bringing it home. People storing boxes at your house for a period of time. You can bring them home from the grocery store.....yes....from the store. Ask me to tell you a grocery store story. Leaving a door or window open. Poorly fitting screens around open windows. People think those nasty German roaches live only in nasty houses...Wrong!

You could take a brand new home, live in it for 10 years, never clean up a thing, and it will look like the worst house you've ever seen - and never have a German roach... until you or someone brings them home. I've seen German roach infestions in a $500,000.00 home.

So lets say I've done an inspection of your home and we've decided to get on a treatment and prevention program.

Let's start on the outside first.

    • Step 1.
Sweep the eaves for spiders and spider egg cases. Knock down wasp and other stinging pests. Also, sweep and check around doors and windows outside.
    • Step 2.
Check for ant hills and or ants trailing on or near the structure.
    • Step 3.
Treat the underside of the eaves with a long lasting microencapsulated product to eliminate and prevent spider and other insects from gaining acces to your home in these areas.
    • No two homes are exactly the same. They may be built, shaped, colored, landscaped, designed and maintained differently. So pest control techniques which work at one house may not work at yours.
    • Step 4.
Treat around window and on exterior window ledges. Also treat around any cracks which maybe evident around window frames or casing. I may need to caulk these cracks to keep bugs from easily accessing your home through these areas. (caulking done only with your permission)
    • Step 5.
Treat around pipes or wiring which is coming throught the walls to the exterior.
    • Step 6.
Lay down a full perimeter barrier one foot up on the wall and several feet out from the foundation. Also, treat weep holes in brick homes. This is very important in stopping ant and other perimeter invaders.
    • Step 7.
Treat all cracks and crevices in whatever type of siding is on your home.
    • Step 8.
Treating mulched, barked, pine strawed flower beds and landscaped areas adjacent to the home. These are where most perimeter invaders live.
    • Step 9.
Check for and eliminate any ant hills within 10 feet from the structure.
    • Step 10.
Treat areas where garbage cans are stored.
  • These steps will be done on the initial treatment as well as any other scheduled service trips to your home.

NOW LET'S LOOK AT THE INSIDE FOR AN INITIAL TREATMENT

(For the sake of our example let's say you have a mild roach infestation)

  • I always like to start in the kitchen.
    • Step 1.
If there are roaches in the cabnets. take a flashlight and a gel bait and put very small amounts of gel bait in the corners of all cabinetry. Especailly under the sink, next to the dishwashers and cabinetry adjacent to the refrigerator.
    • Step 2.
Treat all cracks and crevices with gel or very samll amounts of residual spray. One key spot is where your countertop rolls down on top of you cabinets....this little crack is an ideal place roaches like to hide.
    • Step 3.
Check for and treat cracks where cabints connect to the wall and to each other.
    • Step 4.
Check and treat around dishwasher and stove areas.
    • Step 5.
Pull out refrigerator and treat behind it. This is a major infestation area when roaches are present.
    • Step 6.
Underneath your sink where the pipes come through the wall is a hollow void area. This are needs treatment also. I have a special plug I will install at all these plumbing areas which will allow me treat in this void with spray, foam, or dust.
    • You could take a brand new home, live in it for 10 years, never clean up a thing, and it will look like the worst house you've ever seen - and never have a German roach... until you or someone brings them home.
    • Step 7.
Sometimes a tiny small hole will need to be drilled under your cabinets about every two feet or so. There is a 4 inch void all along and underneath your cabinets which in severe infestions should be treated.
    • Step 8.
The bathrooms are treated in the same manor as the kitchen in regards to cabinetry and the void behind the plumbing area.
    • Step 9.
Check and treat around any other exterior entry points such as fire places and door thresholds. Also checking window areas and around baseboards to make sure they are tightly sealed.
    • Step 10.
Some electrical outlet covers maybe removed and treatment placed inside the wall voids.
    • Step 11.
Garage treated and spider webs removed and prevention chemical applied.

Other steps maybe necessary, but this is a general overview of the pest elimination and prevention program inside. In most cases after tne initial service all future services are directed to the exterior of the structure. If at anytime a problem arises interior treatment will be applied at your request. Keep in mind if I can eliminate your 2% problem inside then I will concentrate on keeping the other 98% from getting in from the outside.

All chemicals are EPA certified and everything I use on the interior is oderless and gives off no fumes. I don't use anything "from the hardware store". I spend the extra money to purchase the highest quality treatment materials available, because I want to use material which is safe for your family and pets. If I won't use it my house I'm not going tho use it at yours.

My number one concern is your satisfation with a job well done. BOTTOM LINE!
If you are not happy than I will not rest until you are. Or I will give you your money back.
